Airtel has a 3G USB modem for a postpaid and prepaid internet connection. However, since April 9,2013, the 3G connection is no longer available in certain circles like Goa. Users in this circle cannot even make any plan change for their connection. The only option available is to cancel the connection and use a GPRS connection.After the application is submitted at a customer service center, the address will be verified by the Airtel representative and only then will the connection be activated.

Earlier, there were a number of different plans available for Airtel 3G internet connections using a USB dongle.
These include:
1.2 GB data transfer, Rs 450 /month
2. 3 GB data transfer, Rs 650 /month
They also offer a smartbytes option, using which subscribers can top up the usage available.
